You would think that helping different people from all around the world to settle in a new place shouldn’t be the biggest problem when this place is objectively the best town in the world. Still, the greatness of Nijmegen is certainly easy to overlook. That’s why it is the six of us who go out to open your eyes, kind strangers, to open your eyes for this obviously beautiful lady with all of its hidden treasures. And it’s not only about lovely Nijmegen, no, we’ll show you all there is to know about the Netherlands and even about Europe, we’ll give you true friendships, the world and unicorns, yes, the universe will lie to your feet thanks to us. And if not that, we’ll try our best to let you feel at home here, at least.
To achieve that noble goal, we imported two charming ladies with golden hair from the east, for the German knowledge of financially sound policies and effective propaganda is legendary all over the world. Hence, our charming blonde German treasurer Lena (on the left side in the red bag) guards about every lazy cent of us with a gentle, yet iron grip, whereas our charming blonde German promotion officer Katharina (on the left in the brown bag) will never stand still until every single person on the campus is well-informed enough about even the last little detail of our next upcoming activity.
Speaking of blonde and charming, not all our committee members are imported of course, as there have to be insiders to the Dutch culture to help other people understand it. This is the reason why our secretary Isabel (holding the red bag) might be charming and golden of hair, but is absolutely not German (except maybe in her obsession with which she keeps writing the most perfect minutes you’d ever hope to read)! Even more so, there is even a Dutch committee member that, while being charming is a given, is not even blonde, but wears her hair in the most precious of all shades of the colour brown! It is also no coincidence that our brown colleen Leonie (on the right in the red bag) holds the title “Officer for Leukness“, to hold the committee together.
This being said, that little committee wouldn’t really be international enough yet, when there’s only Germans and Dutch, would it? Being without a doubt our most Italian member, marvellous Eva (on the right in the brown bag) brings in just the colour that would be missing without her, just the bit of pepper on your Pizza that makes it, just the drop of extra virgin olive oil on your pasta. You just can’t really do it without her. And finally of course, on every journey it is handy to have someone who knows where we are going. Our chair Mesian (holding the brown bag) might have been around here in Nijmegen for a whole while already by now, but let’s be honest: Wherever we go, Mesian has probably been there before.
We can’t wait to settle you!
